Franecdotes

By Fran Crawford

It appears our long, long strange winter has turned into a super California springtime. We still suffer the consequences of the drought and the folks in the eastern part of the country have much rebuilding to do. Periods of heat can significantly worsen drought conditions by hastening evaporation of water vapor. Already, warmer than average days are appearing in Southern California. A group of folks who travel and or live in their recreational vehicles (RVs for short) are planning a rally for members of their group. They will meet at the Yuba Sutter Fairgrounds April 12 to 16. Non members are invited to attend any part or all of the event. The event is a SKP WARE Rally to be held at the Yuba Sutter fairgrounds in Yuba City, April 12 - 16 this year. Activities, entertainment, seminars, dinners, classic car show, craft classes, games, door prizes, tours, information, safety classes, questions answered, and much more. Several Escapees chapters are donating their services by serving coffee, donuts and a breakfast, and the rally dinner will feature Polynesian food and entertainment. We invite you to join in the spirit of the theme by dressing Polynesian style. There are 200 water and electric sites, as well as boondocking and handicapped RV areas. Be sure to register early. Visit www.warerally.com to register and reserve online, or call 541-659-7208 or 541-664-2130 and ask for WARE registration. You may also order T-shirts (in advance only), so order early.
