The Marysville little league held their Opening Ceremony on
March 16, 2013. Many families came out to support the players and to begin a
new season. The event began with the pledge of allegiance followed by
recognition of all players and teams and included presentation of a sponsorship
check from Wheeler Auto Center. The Marysville Little League serves up to 365
kids in baseball and softball from the ages of 4- 16 years of age.
On behalf of Marysville Little league a memorial plaque
donated by Twin City Trophies was presented, in honor of Bobby Lee who recently
passed away. The plaque reads in part: Bobby Lee loved the Game of Baseball and
Softball. He touched many lives and loved the town of Marysville .
Bobby’s legacy started way back when he was a little leaguer,
playing the game he grew to love at Earle Yorton Field. He coached every level
at Marysville Little League. The life lessons he taught through coaching will
live on through all the players lives he touched. To start the new season, the
first pitch was thrown by Bobby Lee’s daughter Michelle Clavelle.
The opening ceremony was a great success starting a new
season with sponsorships, honoring others for great performance and of course a
snack bar to get the players pumped for their first game!
