In the March 25 issue, the page one article beginning, "Farm Leader.." has some glaring errors and exaggerations, apparently by Paul Wenger, head of the California Farm Bureau. He states that many farmers will face water cut-backs of 80 to 100%. Where has it been reported that any water district or agency is cutting water 100%? His next gross exaggeration is the statement that "tens of thousands of jobs will be lost". Again, what is he talking about? Tens of thousands? Ridiculous.
And his final absurdity is his claim that millions of acre feet of water have been wasted as they were allowed to flow into the ocean. He maintains this water should of been captured for later use. What? Is he saying that we allowed water to run through our reservoirs? If that is what he is claiming then our reservoirs should be full. They are not. What is he talking about? All we can assume is that Mr. Wenger is a confused person who cannot think logically.
