The Yuba County Board of Supervisors (BOS) falls right in line with the theme of big government. When Obama marched his Health Care Act straight into law, we were all upset because the law was passed before we even knew what was in it or how it was to be enacted.
Now Yuba County is taking one from Obama's playbook; passing an urgency ban taking immediate effect but without any county resources to register growers or enforce the law. And just like Obama, it is a disgusting use of power, done in bad faith. There was no actual "urgency." In a December BOS meeting, when Nicoletti was the chairperson he specifically stated he was in no hurry to change the ordinance and wanted to make sure it was done right, not in a hurry. Now Nicoletti cites "guard dogs" and "traffic" to pass the ban with urgency. I've never seen a more disingenuous politician.
The actions of the Yuba County BOS have created bigger government, more enforcement and has taken individual freedoms from law abiding citizens. Creating more government is not the work of conservatives. I find it disgusting that the local Republican chair, Paul Myers would publicly support an ordinance which goes against the very principles of his party. So Mr. Myers, are the Yuba County Republicans for bigger government and less freedom?
