Stocker Just Doesn’t Get It

I am writing in response to Hal Stockers letter about his failed Measure T. I am convinced he doesn’t know what he’s talking about when he says the measure didn’t have anything to do with Agenda 21.
To paraphrase one of the tenants of United Nations Agenda 21, property ownership creates wealth and wealth creates social injustice, therefore, to prevent social injustice, property must be controlled by government. That premise strikes at the very heart of the wishes and rights of a free people but he is trying to do just that, increase government control and regulation. Stocker doesn’t get it.
The way his measure was written, something as simple as a lot split which should be a matter concerning only the property owner and his immediate neighbors could have required a vote of everyone in the County. He says that is not true. He doesn’t get it.

He says he is trying to save farmlands and I say when is he going to start? He hasn’t done anything in 20 years to protect the AG interest in the north county while at the same time his votes on the Board of Supervisors have created housing developments out of prime farmland in the south county. He doesn’t get it.

He says he is protecting Beale AFB yet he has helped to deny the creation of suitable housing which is desired by the Air Force. Yuba Highlands is a good example. As a result, Highways 20 and 65 are chocked with traffic as base workers travel to and from the higher end housing that cannot be found in Yuba County. They take their high end salaries to Placer and Nevada Counties. They live where the roads are repaired and the stores are crowded. We also travel out of county to shop at their stores because we don’t have any and can only wonder when our potholes are going to be repaired. Stocker doesn’t get it.

In concluding his letter, Stocker proves how devious he can really be. It is true, Measure T only failed by 1% of the vote. What he fails to tell us is in his district, it failed by a wide margin because the voters in his district, his constituents, value their property rights and freedoms. Stocker just doesn’t get it!
