News From the Brownsville Bailiwick & Beyond

Winter is almost over, with the first day of spring on the 20th, and I sure don’t remember any winter weather. I love winter and I feel like I have been cheated. But, the Lord knows what we need and when we need it, so I guess it is all going to be fine. Soon the gardens will be planted and sprouting up from the warm earth, the baby animals will be showing their faces to their new world, the aroma of BBQ will be scenting the air and the season of water, hiking, picnic and camping fun will be in full swing. There is always so much beauty to be enjoyed and thankful for; even if I didn’t get to enjoy a winter. I know, get over it!

We had started a monthly section for the news from Foothill Fire Department and we kind of slipped off with that. We will start again now with a listing of the calls that came in for the month of February. There were a total of 18 calls with 11 medical; 2 wild land/debris fires; 4 structure fires and 1 electrical hazard. Also, the Department took delivery of a brand new wild land truck. Be sure to keep a look out for the new truck. We will have more information next month.

Hope to see you in Brownsville soon. Christine and Yvonne
