"A group of business owners in Marysville came together in November to bring our beautiful and historic community and businesses to life. With so much history and so many unique and customer friendly businesses, it was time to showcase this remarkable “Town”, commented Ken Freeman organizer of the group.
Experience Historic Marysville is the goal and Focus on Marysville Business is the Engine to drive the goal of making Marysville great again. The group meets at 723 D St. on the 2nd Tuesday of the month at 8 a.m. with coffee and donuts from local businesses. All are welcome and encouraged to attend this event hosted by and for Marysville Business Owners and those who want to help.
"Our thanks to Rabo Bank for a generous donation that will help in launching a website and App", said Mr. Freeman. Each and every business in Marysville will receive a “FREE” listing plus other features are available as well. In addition, we are working on a Map of all Marysville businesses.
What have we (the business owners) accomplished in just 5 months?
-A Face Book Page at Focus on Historic Marysville and coming soon Experience Historic Marysville.
A Website and Mobile App is nearing completion that will list all businesses and places of interest in Marysville. In addition to the free listing, push marketing will be used to generate interest in all activities in town as well as feature local businesses, events and other interesting information.
Mary Aaron Museum has agreed to host this big project so all donations will be tax deductible and funds will only be used for printing and web development as all other is volunteer.
So- What is Next?
The next phase is to complete the Map plus start adding a gold nugget to each business with their history captured in a QR code for smart phone users. This will provide a history of the property, the building and the business and can be used for self guided tours, scavenger hunts and more.
The group is looking for events to host including a Day of The Cowboy on July 25th. An insurance policy is being researched that would cut the cost of each event while meeting the Cities requirements.
Available to all business owners is “FREE” consulting in business management, loan preparation, merchandising and marketing. Some are even getting free training on Quick Books and hopefully using social media.
