Celebrate International Women’s Month With AAUW

Olivehurst, CA.

On Saturday, March 21, 2015, at 11:30 a.m., the Marysville-Yuba City branch of the American Association of University Women will hold its monthly luncheon meeting at Flavors Restaurant on the Yuba Community College campus. The featured speakers are Agnieszka Muller from Poland and Anna Yefromenkov from Ukraine, who will speak about experiences in their home countries and why they came to America. Lunch provided by Culinary Arts students of Yuba College and chef Roy Hansen.

Visitors and potential members are always welcome at AAUW meetings. Space is limited and reservations for lunch are required, $16 payable in advance. There will be no charge for parking. Agnieszka (Agge) Muller practices law in a Sacramento firm that specializes in Workers Compensation law. She graduated from the University of Gdansk, Poland with a B.A. and Master’s degree in Polish Law and obtained her Juris Doctorate degree from Lincoln Law School in 2010, graduating magna cum laude. She is married to Dave Muller, a Yolo County Deputy Public Defender.

Anna Yefromenkov was born in Ukraine and still has close family members living there.

“I came to USA in 1999 to study English and get general education for my future career,” she said. “I became a business developer and independent consultant for skilled nursing rehab facilities and home health.” Anna is the mother of two young daughters and lives and works in Sacramento.

Projects of the Marysville-Yuba City Branch of the American Association of University Women are the Math Science/STEM Conference for 8th Grade Girls at Yuba College on April 1, 2015, scholarships for 7th grade girls to the Tech Trek Science Camp at UC Davis, and other scholarships for girls and women. AAUW is a national organization dedicated to promoting equity for women and girls through advocacy, education, philanthropy, and research.
