Artists are Announced for the AAUW Garden Tour

On Saturday, May 2, 2015 nine artists will be featured in gardens as part of the Annual AAUW Garden Tour. This year’s artists are: Marlys Bayne (birdhouses), Tamra Spoto (ceramics), Terri Foley (watercolor), Veena Singh (watercolor), Carol Keesling (watercolor), Sue Graue (photography), Cindy Gaven (watercolor), Janet Staser (jewelry), and Leslie Greenetz (watercolor/acrylic).

Always held the First Saturday in May, the AAUW Garden Tour opens outstanding private home gardens in our area to the public from 10 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. This is a self-guided tour, and the gardens can be visited in any order of preference.

Tour maps will be distributed the morning of the tour at Plumas and C Street in the grassy island in front of Sutter North in Yuba City from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. You must show your ticket to get a map and the wrist band which will be your entry to the gardens. Additional tickets can be purchased at that location/time for $20 per person. After 12:30 maps/tickets may be purchased at The Crave.

There will be a casual reception at The Crave, 454 Bridge Street in Yuba City from 12:30 to 4 p.m., hosted by Harkey House Bed and Breakfast and Cakes by Request. You must have your wrist band for the Garden Tour to attend the reception.

Tickets $15/$20. Tickets are $15 when purchased before the day of the event, and are available beginning in mid-March at The Candy Box, Sperbeck’s Nursery, Union Lumber, Yuba City Florist, Botanica Landscape, Bald Mountain Nursery, Sutter Auto Body, The Crave, Creative Interiors, Hillcrest Flowers, Yuba-Sutter Arts Council, or from any AAUW member.

Proceeds from the AAUW Garden Tour benefit projects of Marysville-Yuba City Branch of the American Association of University Women. Projects include Math-Science/STEM Conference for 8th Grade Girls, Tech Trek Science Camp for 7th grade girls, and scholarships for girls and women.
