A Full Day of Activities for Women

There are some interesting crossovers between “A Day for Women” conference at Sierra College in Grass Valley April 18th and The Sierra College Marketplace on the campus the same day. The two events are inviting women from throughout the north state to this exciting fun and informative day for women. “A Day for Women” will be a special day offering opportunities to learn and explore something new. The 300 women attending from counties around the Sierra foothills area can select from 28 different one-hour classes at 4 per day. The topics range from areas such as Personal Growth, Creativity, Food Preparation, Gardening, Technology and Bodywork. This day, especially for women, includes lunch and other activities such as raffle prizes, door prize drawings, lunch, networking, and shopping in the Sierra College Marketing with 50 vendors.

Guest lecturer Melisa Mistler-Yates will deliver a workshop in her area of expertise,” Undertone: Your Best YOU! Learn the colors that work best for you” will have a booth in the vendor marketplace. Mistler-Yates is a consultant on looking a person’s best for special occasions or every day. As the director of many pageants she will be available to chat with women on their grooming concerns in booth # 4 staffed for her cosmetics business, M3 Mall.

She will then be in her booth #10 offering the public and attendees a chance to discuss her talk and her books, particularly her latest publication, “Pearls”. Additionally Jan Fishler will teach a class on journal keeping, “Just Write It”, so women can become amateur authors and capture the biographical story of their own lives.

Representative from Wells Fargo, Brittney Still, will discuss “Financial Literacy” in her class and then be on hand in a Wells Fargo information booth to share ideas and information on fiscal management and bank products. Wells Fargo is the Presenting Sponsor for the event. Augmenting Still’s presentation will be Janni Dallas speaking on “Five Money Questions for Women”.

St. Claire often teaches classes at Dignity Health Sierra Nevada Hospital on being heart healthy especially following a heart incident. Dignity Health Sierra Nevada Beast Imaging is also a Platinum sponsor of the day and will be in booth # 32 to answer questions women have about breast health. Both are focused on a being a well woman.
