6th Annual Rabbit Run

Sisters of Scota Women’s Motorcycle Club presents the 6th Annual Rabbit Run. Proceeds benefit Environmental Alternatives of Northern California to help raise money which will be utilized in an effort to assist foster and pre-adopted children in our region to attend camp.

The event will start on Saturday, March 28, 2015. Sign-in at the Gold Eagle Market #2, 11269 Loma Rica Rd., Marysville, CA 95901. Registration is at 9am to 10am and costs $20 per person/$30 per couple. Made up and sealed Easter baskets and other donations are appreciated. There will be an Easter egg hunt at Lake Francis along with food, venders and adult and universal beverages. Motorcyclists are encouraged and there will be a group ride to the event staging area from Golden Eagle Market; Cages (Cars) are welcome.

Festivities include Bike Blessing by Christian Motorcyclists Association, games, vendors, raffles, ride-in bike show, and a specially prepared Holiday Ham luncheon. Live music by The Swankmasters. Run pins to the first 50 sign-ins.
Environmental Alternatives is a non-profit, private corporation providing a myriad of social-residential services to formerly abused or neglected children by assisting with the needs of their adopted families by helping them to have at hand growth and age-relevant, developmentally significant education and support tools while having fun doing it. One such educational experience many children look forward to attending, if they have the monetary resources for attendance is Camp Rockin ‘U’ held at Lake Francis in Dobbins, California. Children of ages 7-14 years old attend and have mentors of 14 to 16 years of age who are qualified and certified staff members. Tuition includes all meals, lodging and program materials.Campers are responsible for travel, medical expenses, and spending money.

The average child will spend about $35.00 per week in the trading post for souvenirs such as: a camp T-shirt, snacks, postcards, and water bottles.

Sisters of Scota Women’s Motorcycle Club (WMC) has origins dating back to 1979 and has obtained 501c3 status as a mandatory measure of their mission of supporting people and organizations in need. There is no administrative compensation deducted nor do Sisters of Scota WMC receive reimbursement for costs associated with putting this event together; 100% of what is earned from this event is presented to Environmental Alternatives Foster Family Agency which utilizes the funds were deemed necessary with their first priority being Camp Rockin ‘U’; when that is met satisfactorily the remainder of funds may be redistributed to benefit branches of Environmental Alternative in counties: Amador, Butte, Calaveras, Humboldt, Lake, Lassen, Nevada, Plumas, San Joaquin, Shasta, Siskiyou, Yolo, Yuba.
