"What the Hal Happened?!"

by Pastor Dave Bryan Church of Glad Tidingswww.churchofgladtidings.com

On April 15th, three of the five Yuba County Supervisors responded to the overwhelming voice of the people, and voted to include Yuba County in the ever-growing movement to form a new and independent State of Jefferson between Sacramento and the Oregon border. Supervisors Andy Vasquez, Roger Abe and John Nicoletti all supported the new State, and should be recognized for their courage in not shrinking back from the challenge of bucking the status quo, and for their honesty and integrity in rightly representing the will of the people of Yuba County. To Supervisors Vasquez, Nicoletti, and Abe, we say, “THANK YOU FOR YOUR LEADERSHIP!” In a day when Americans are bone tired of political “smoke and mirrors” and wishy-washy sorts who can’t show up in the showdown and take a stand, it's nice to feel like we still have a few courageous leaders who REALLY LISTEN to the voices of the people they represent! But the real question is, “What the Hal happened to Stocker?!?” Just prior to voting AGAINST the new State of Jefferson, he boldly proclaimed at a supervisor’s meeting, “I am 110% for this thing!” Yet in the showdown, he changed his tune completely, citing "input from constituents” as the cause of his crawfishing on the issue! Really, Hal?!? Many of those of us who live in “them there hills” of District 5 feel BADLY MISREPRESENTED, and are now wondering just “what the Hal happened” on that little political card trick! Was it "the voice of the people" Hal was representing? Hal, NO!!!
