With his wife Peggy by his side, Assemblyman Dan Logue (Rep. Loma Rica) formally announced today that he will be seeking election to California's 3rd Congressional District seat.

Logue made the announcement at 11:15 am while speaking at the Plaza located at the Solano County Government Center in Fairfield.

Saying "We must take our country back," Logue intends to represent the largely conservative district which generally encompasses areas north and west of Sacramento. It consists of Colusa, Sutter, and Yuba counties plus portions of Glenn, Lake, Sacramento, Solano, and Yolo counties.
Later in the day, Logue spoke before another enthusiastic gathering under the shade trees at the Veteran’s Memorial Park in Yuba City.

Again he said “We must take our country back. It’s not the bureaucrat’s country, it’s not the IRS’s country, and it’s not the Department of Labor’s country, it is our nation.”

A small businessman and former Yuba County Supervisor, Logue was first elected to the State Assembly in 2008. He currently represents California’s 3rd State Assembly District which covers a portion of the northern and eastern Sacramento Valley

In the State Assembly, Logue serves in the leadership role of Chief Whip for the Republican Caucus. He is the Vice-Chair of the Assembly Health Committee. He is also a member of the Assembly Budget Committee, the Elections and Redistricting Committee, the Budget Sub Committee 3, and he sits on the Assembly Transportation Committee.

Assemblyman Logue is the appointed chair of the Caucus Task Force on Jobs and Economic Recovery, and has organized the Economic Recovery Group which meets regularly with business representatives to improve the State’s business environment.

The 3rd Congressional District is currently represented by Congressman John Garamendi (Dem. Walnut Grove).
