True Words came from Mitt Romney

It is often difficult, at least for me, to understand how we can on the one hand want a candidate to be honest and direct but at the same time careful with his/her words.
Monday evening September 17, 2012 Mitt Romney spoke words that were true; yet the media took his words as an offense to those who receive welfare from the American tax payer.
And of course as usual the liberal media twisted words into something that worked for the media, not the American people.

Growing up I learned that being self reliant and responsible were good traits; that providing a “helping hand” to someone who needed help getting back up on their feet was also a good trait.
Unfortunately our current welfare system has become a life style, a choice, if you will. And this is the fault of Americans, we have allowed our representatives to create a bureaucracy who by it’s very nature in order to survive cannot fix the welfare problem.

Current commercials playing on local radio stations promote food stamps as part of the entitlement agenda; and they do so with laughter in their voice; as though being without food is a laughing matter.  We conservatives take pride in being able to provide our families with food and a roof over our heads; it is as an important part of our responsibilities to our family; an important aspect of being American.

Our forefathers gave us the opportunity to be free; to live in a country that allows us to make our way and be as prosperous as we desire. Opportunity does not come from the government, it comes from individuals going out and taking a chance and possibly succeeding.  Prosperity comes from hard work yet again we are lead to believe that is not fair to be a hard worker and be prosperous at the same time.

I believe many American’s have forgotten that we are a free people, that personal prosperity is built personally and nationally by promoting independent self reliant citizens. The current administration encourages it’s citizens to ask what the government can do for me, instead of promoting the JFK lead belief that says, ask what you can do for your Country.

So when we go to the polls on November 6, 2012 remember what we are fighting for  - along with Liberty and the pursuit of happiness we are fighting for our right to be independent, self-reliant, responsible for our own future and yes prosperous if we so choose.
